nameournewsletterwinner Announcing the Name Our Newsletter Contest Winners

And the winners are...

It’s finally time to name the winner of the ‘Name Our Newsletter and Win Contest‘ and the winner of our random drawing. You submitted some great names via comments, email and twitter. What’s more, we exceeded our launch with over 50 subscribers—thanks to everyone who entered!

Elizabeth Leu, of Prince George, British Columbia, is the winner of the ‘Name Our Newsletter and Win Contest‘. Her newsletter name submission, Point of Departure, was chosen by reader voting from a list of more than 30 entries made over the 60-day run of the contest. For her efforts, Elizabeth has won a $25 gift certificate from Amazon. Get in touch with us via email, Ms. Leu, and we’ll arrange for your worthy prize to be delivered.

And congratulations are also owed to Steven Norwich, lately of Seoul, South Korea—and now of no fixed address. Thanks to the awesome, robot-like power of random.org, his name was selected from among the first 50 subscribers to receive a $25 gift certificate from Amazon. It might be a little tougher to get Steven his prize, so we might offer him something of equivalent value by email—or might even just PayPal him the funds so he can have a night or two at a hostel on us! Get in touch with us via email, Mr. Norwich, and we’ll arrange for your worthy prize to be delivered electronically!

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Steven for their suggestions and participation! And thanks, of course, to all the other contest participants. It’s great to see how many travellers out there have inspired so much creativity! We are humbled!

  1. Awesome. Thanks, Kathryn and Daniel! Have sent you an email through the website. There’s been a guidebook for India I’ve been wanting to pick up (The Rough Guide) and I’m somewhat settled in Thailand for the next few month or so, so Amazon might be the way to go!
